Pumpkin Carving a Dangerous Tradition
For FHE we carved our pumpkins - Grace was so excited she was doing it all herself and didn't need much help so I started roasting pumpkin seeds and then heard screaming and looked at the table and Derek being the cute 15 yr old boy that he is had apparently cut a huge hole out of the front of his pumpkin - and had been building a fire inside and now the pumpkin was engulfed in flames! I sometimes do not even understand where these ideas come from! We got the pumpkin outside safely and he protested putting the fire out -so he sat and watched it and continued to put things in it to keep it burning! Maybe he needs counseling? The rest of the pumpkins turned out cute! Of course all made by the girls!

Now that looks like fun, right - I'm so confused now!
That is hillarious!! At least he had a good time :)
How fun! Derek needs to come down here where they shoot pumpkin pieces out of a cannon!? Have a great Halloween!
Derek is such a boy! And the girls are such, well, girls. I must admit I'm a little disappointed. I was waiting for you to say that Steve carved his entire pumpkin using an arthroscope through a small hole in the back of the pumpkin. ;)
Derek, you would fit in perfectly here. Our boys just wanted to leave the pumpkin as is, no carving. It's a pumpkin, get it? Send him down, a pumpkin fire would be fun!
Yeah - does the thought "boys will be boys" make you wonder what (insane) mother or father came up with it's all okay...BUT!it really does get better when it your "grandchildren" that do the silly things. You just have to look at the prents and smile...
oh Derek!! hahahaha
Seriously who does that?! I love that he is listening to his Ipod while blowing up a pumpkin...Classic!
I am so sorry about that, I think he did get a few of the Terry and Darren gene's! Thank goodness for girls! We did not have any pumpkin fires here, hum maybe that is only because ours is not carved yet!
I am stil chuckling about the smokin' pumpkin! I will remember that for when by boy gets that age! Your girls are so beautiful! Enjoy your Halloween.
I miss Savannah so much! I thought she was going to be a parate for halloween thou?!
