We were so excited when we woke up today because we got to go to the Sunflower Orphanage and meet all the kids! The bus driver was crazy he just barreled down the narrowest streets! the people were so poor living in houses made out of mud bricks some with no electricity, no running water, but all seem so happy and very kind. The Sunflower was fabulous - the kids were lined up boys on one side girls on the other and dressed in peruvian costumes, drums and flutes were playing to welcome us. We hugged them and said hello as we walked through the line. The put on a program for us when we got there and we all danced and sang. After the big party we split up on our work parties. We painted dorms and assembled shelves for the storage room. After the work was done we played and got to know the kids. We brought jump ropes and frisbees and footballs. They all knew lauren they called her Floren - she was passing out gum! They were too cute! Grace did great and just played with the kids - she found a best friend named Dyanna! The girls during the program
Nephtali picked Grace to dance with during the program! She was the youngest American visitor they have ever had! They loved her!
