Peru Day 1

We had the greatest trip! It was an adventure of a lifetime! Day one was traveling - we flew from Spokane to Denver to Houston to Lima. We spent the night in the airport at lima because we only had about 4 hours til our flight to Cusco. So we laid out all our suitcases and slept on top of them for a few hours. When we arrived in Cusco we got a bus and went to a LDS ward building and had a sacrament meeting. They asked Steve to speak - and we sang a couple of songs and had the sacrament - we had such a strong spirit in that little meeting. After we went and saw some Inca ruins - we were about 10,000 feet and our hearts were beating so fast because of the altitude - you had to remind yourself to breath. Grace was so tired she fell asleep in the restaurant while we were eating dinner. The Avacados are to die for! Steve remembered alot from his mission while we were driving around Cusco - it was fun to hear all about his mission. We drank his favorite INKA COLA! Lauren said it tasted like acid - I think it tasted like bubble gum carbonated. After seeing all the sights in Cusco we headed to Urabomba which was about an hour away. We stayed in a Hotel that was much better than we were expecting. It was a full day! We were all ready for bed when we finally arrived there!
We slept in the airport. We put the suitcases down and slept on top of them.
Dereks first taste of Alpaca. YUM!!
Grace made a lot of friends with Alpaca's & llama's
This is some of our 1st ruins called saqsaywaman (pronounced sexy woman)
